Nusli Wadia ( Chairman , Wadia Group ) has withdrawn the defamation suit against Ratan Naval Tata (ex-chairman , Tata Group) and others. Wadia withdrew the case after Ratan Tata and others told the Supreme Court that he had no intention of defaming Nusli Wadia.
Wadia filed a defamation case against Tata in December 2016 which sought Rs3000 crore.
Wadia mentioned some names other than Ratan Tata in the lawsuit. It included the names of Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran and board members Vijay Singh,Ajay Piramal, Ranendra Sen, FN Subedar and Venu Srinivasan.
Court allowed Wadia to withdraw the petition in the supreme court after Tata and others stated that they did not have any intention to defame Nusli Wadia.
